Usually we have an image of a scary shark for our Real or Not? posts, but this time, we thought we'd mix things up a bit. You know: keep things fresh. So this week's image is a frightening one of a tiny diver and a huge jellyfish.

3. I'd say fake - the light sources on the jellyfish are totally different from those on the diver.

4. I have seen Lion's Mane jellyfish and they get big, but that thing is ludicrous!
I see some photoshop going on here. The diver is apparently closer to the camera than the jellyfish, yet more affected by the distortion of color (he's really blue).

6. I believe the image has been manipulated. Looking closely at the diver there is a very distictive path around him/her.

11. No way. The largest Jelly Fish that I ever saw was at night in PNG (papua new guinea) it was along side of our ship at night feeding in the light. It looked like a box jelly, but was approx. 10 feet in length and was eating fish that was in the 4 oz range. We saw about 3 in the same area. No one ever has been able to tell me the name of this jelly or has been one like it.

12. the picture is an obvious fake. i am a professional diver that has been diving for 11 years, and not once has a jellyfish come anyway near this size. the lion mane is a much smaller creature. oh, and lets all look at that huge air bubble under the diver shall we?

13. I belive it is real im also a diver although ive only been diving for 3 years, but that is the world's biggets jellyfish actually ive read about it several places, but that is only a diver added into the pic the actuall thing is real

15. I live in Uruguay, this summer I saw for the first time one mile out in the ocean from Punta del Este a jelly fish with a cup span of aproximately 6 feet with tentacles of about the same length, a local fisherman claims to have seen bigger in the past. It did´nt look as massive as the one in the picture but it still gave me the chills.

16. They actually got a picture of a diver in the tenticles attaching a tracking device. It was the same jelly, but smaller, it was about 4 times the divers size, but not as big as that one.

17. It's really hard to say whether or not this is real, because I took it into Photoshop and the pixels that make up the diver and the pixels that make up the jellyfish are all the same size.
But if this is real, then OH MY DEAR JESUS THAT THING IS HUGE!

18. This is real. The shadow on the diver and the jellyfish is the same. That wouldnt happen if it was photo shoped. And the coloring from the water is the same on both of them too. Its real. Without a doubt.

19. whoever says that this is real is so stupid!
even my science professor said it was fake and he told us that on this one website there was the picture with the "huge jellyfish" and the real picture... and there was a sorry note below saying to everyone that it was fake and they were sorry if someone was fooled to think that it was real.

20. first of all Regla plz learn how to spell.Second of all the diver seems to be all 1 color. He doesn't even have any detail. And the Giant squid is probaly at least a little bigger thatn that so if that doesn't tell you it's a fake then your obvisliey .... well then you shouldn't be on the internet
